Celebrating Failure

1. I actually experienced a pretty big failure this past week in another class. I got a C on an exam in another class. I didn't study enough, and I only blame myself for not doing as well as I should have on that exam.

2. I learned that hard work is important, and success should be earned. I realized how important studying ahead of time is, and I will work hard to not procrastinate anymore.

3. Gosh failure is tough! My dad always says it's not about falling it's about picking yourself up. Failure is important because it shows you that you are capable of being successful again. I handle failure differently depending on the situation at hand. I am my own worst critic, so I am pretty hard on myself when I fail. But as I have gotten older I have learned how to handle failure better. This class has definitely changed my perspective on failure. I am more likely to take a risk now than I was four months ago for sure. I have realized that risks are important because the only thing worse than not succeeded is not trying at all.

  1. Rachel,

We all have moments like that, but unfortunately they're a part of life, and more than anything - a part of college. I got my first C in college in accounting. While I don't entirely blame myself for the grade that I got, it was still a learning experience in recognizing that I will not always excel at everything. I am also my worst critic and a Type A person, so that took a huge toll on me. Just remember that at the end of the day, "this too shall pass" and eventually you'll be on that stage graduating! Good luck with that class and with finals. If you want to feel better about yourself, go ahead and read my post. It's not about school. It's about trying to not get fat lol

  2. Hey, Rachel!

I understand how you feel. I got a C on an exam recently and I am the one to blame. It does feel sucky, but we learn from these experiences. I always like to say that many of us know not to touch boiling water because we've been burnt. It's our experiences that shape us. Just like every athlete is going to get injured and every student is going to get a bad grade at some point. Like you said, we must pick ourselves up and use these experiences to learn and grow. 3. Hello Rachel, I think that many people are going to be able to relate to your post because of the amount of times that we all have experienced the same thing. I got a C on one of my stats exam and I could not blame anyone but myself because I failed to study as much as I should have knowing that I had an exam. We all have those moments where we mess up and know that it is our fault to blame but that only motivates people to move forward. Knowing that I could not afford that type of grade again was also a lot of motivation . Check out my post at http://markemiablogs.blogspot.com/2016/04/celebrating-failure.html
