These are the questions I asked each customer:
1. Tell me about your last experience parking on the UF campus.
2. Is your overall view of parking more negative or more positive?
3. Do you think anything needs to be done about UF parking? If you answered yes, what would it be?
I learned a lot about my opportunity after I conducted my interviews. I learned that not all of the people I interviewed felt the same way about expansion that I did. To be honest, I thought every college student would want more parking. I was clearly wrong, but I am glad that I was because it was a great learning experience. I wanted to keep the questions as unbiased as possible to get the best results. The responses varied and opinions contrasted greatly.
I was really nervous about walking up to strangers, but it got a lot easier after each person. I realized that most people don't mind helping others out. I thought it was much easier when I talked to them for a little while before actually interviewing them. The interviews went smoothly with each customer, and I am happy that each person was willing to participate.
Hi Rachel!
ReplyDeleteI think you had a really great entrepreneurship idea because parking at UF is definitely a problem. I never try to drive and I use my scooter mostly because of it but when I do drive I get frustrated with finding parking. You had really good interviews and asked really great questions! You can check out my interviews on my blog here - http://darby95.blogspot.com/2016/01/customer-interviews-no-1.html
Rachel,
ReplyDeleteYou conducted your interviews very well and the problem you brought up was very true and relevant. I also think there is a parking problem on campus and I was surprised by some of the responses, just like you. Your idea of expanding parking on campus is a good one but maybe it is not as big as a problem as we think. Your questions were great and i enjoyed reading your post.
Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post very much as I agree with you that the parking situation in campus is horrendous and that the system used is not a fair one to most students. I thought you interviews were very well done and that you asked very detailed questions.

Rachel,
ReplyDeleteGood job on your interviews. It was really brave of you to conduct these interviews and it looked like you got some insightful information. I liked that there seemed to be variety in opinions for your idea of expansion. Will you take that as a reason to quit this idea? Or does it fuel your need to come up with a way to convince more people that your idea is necessary? I hate parking on college campus, its dangerous and super annoying.

Hey Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI thought your interviews went really well. It seems that everyone was easy to talk to and it was such a diverse group in experience an age. I think that parking is always an issue, especially in a place that has limited space like Gainesville. Everything is so tightly placed and sometimes that means that parking is left out to make space for more classes. I didn't find it as difficult to talk to people, but honestly I was just in a mood to get it over with. We're supposed to put a link to our blogs oin the comments, so here http://triedbloggingendeduponpinterest.blogspot.com/2016/01/customer-interview.html
